Reflecting upon the success of Phase 1 of Fruit Market

Phase 2 is now under construction with an anticipated completion date for Spring / Summer 2026. We thought it was time to reflect on the success of Phase 1, a year or so after its completion.

Perhaps the most exciting aspect of the development is seeing how the planting in the private shared courtyard in phase 1 is coming into maturity. Towards the end of the development, our landscape gardeners generously planted the courtyard with a diverse range of shrubs across the tiered terraces, creating an all-year-round green space and shared garden. A year’s worth of growth and the space looks stunning. Residents are benefiting from their very own spot of nature just right on their doorstep. What is most enjoyable is how quiet and tranquil the space feels while being right in the heart of the city. This is a truly unique feature of this development and is a real success in terms of bringing new homes to the local area and enhancing the green space too. We’re building in the same courtyard features in both parts of phase 2, so Fruit Market will be buzzing with more biodiversity, beautiful plants and shrubs.

Sneinton Market, which has gone from strength to strength since we began our development, is now widely recognised as the main hub for independent businesses in the city. New additions include artisan Pizza from Working Man’s Kitchen, Neon Raptor is set to open a new brewery tap, Bread Mill Bakery is producing exceptional sourdough bread, cakes and pastries, Harveys Farm shop, a new traditional butchers is the newest additional and the Mill Coop, a new flour mill and sourdough kitchen for incubating new businesses, will be up and running soon. Fruit Market is not just a great place to live, but it is also one of the most delicious.

We were also delighted to win the ‘Healthy Life Award’ by the Housing Design Awards, one of the most prestigious awards within the industry and Fruit Market was selected from over 100 projects submitted in 2024. Pretty good for phase 1!
